Welcome to the hub of the “Summer with Saleemah” live online master class series. Saleemah E. Knight’s online master classes were created to keep the artist and human spirit alive by bringing urgent attention to the quality of Black life in America. Saleemah’s master classes support organizations and causes aimed at dismantling the system of White supremacy and violence against Black/ BIPOC. We encourage you to come on a virtual journey with dancer, choreographer, master teacher and university educator Saleemah E. Knight, as you continue to improve your technique, stamina and cultural knowledge with world-class training in Contemporary Jazz Dance. Classes will include a 30 minute comprehensive warm-up/stretch series, 30 minutes of center strength and conditioning exercises and 30 minutes of Contemporary Jazz choreography/ repertoire. Saleemah will also offer opportunities for dancers to ask questions during class to promote a safe space for learning and artistic healing.

Master classes will be led via the Zoom platform and last for 1hr and 30 minutes total. Please click here: https://zoom.us to download the software prior to taking class. Please note that $1.00 of your class fee will be donated to the “Justice for George Floyd” petition for change, and matched toward the Black Lives Matter “What Matters” initiative and Campaign Zero*. There is a 30% fee plus donation for all cancellations.
Upon registration students will receive an email confirmation regarding their selected class, as well as payment confirmation. Please be certain to confirm your subscription to be informed of any changes that may occur in scheduling and updates related to Saleemah’s master classes. Upon completion of the master class students will also be encouraged to send in videos of their execution.
